THE COURSE
Find out the photography fundamental aspects (on 13th November 2023 at 9am), with the professional photographer Max D’Alessandro and hold on for the revelation of this year’s topic. At the end of the workshop, the countdown is set: less than 24 hours to create the perfect picture!
The following day the pictures will be evaluated from an exceptional jury, which in the afternoon will decree and reward the three winning shots.
And to celebrate? A small gathering where you’ll be able to interact with the experts and the other participants.

Portray the geometries of the Campus in the first photographic contest of the Polytechnic University of Bari.
Long time spent on the Campus of the Polytechnic University of Bari, but have we ever really observed it? Have we ever noticed how many angles, curves and lines it includes? How many interesting geometries?
THE COURSE
Whether or not you are a photography enthusiast, you can try at looking for new shapes in the first Campus photo contest!
On the first day (November 14, 2022) Max D’Alessandro, professional photographer, during his workshop will let you (re)discover some fundamental aspects of photography, after which you will have 24 hours to search and shoot your photo. We are convinced that you will find excellent ideas!
The following day, our jury will evaluate the photos presented and, in the afternoon, there will be the Awarding Ceremony of the 3 winning photos – refreshments will follow for all the participants.
Not an experienced photographer and do not own a camera? Not to worry, to participate all you need is the right curiosity: the contest is open to all students of the Polytechnic University of Bari, of all levels and owning all sorts of equipment (including smartphones)!

Made for all those who wish to start doing photography and to those who already take picture for fun, but have never really put their mind into it. A useful experience designed to deepen the basic techniques, discover new technologies and explore the practical and creative sides of this subject. Meant for those who want to get fond of photography!
ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is going to start soon. Lessons will be taken once a week from 7pm to 9pm @ Scatti Spontanei photo studio.
This course is made up of 10 lessons (including 2 field trips on Saturday or Sunday morning to put into practice the topics covered during lessons), for a total of 20 hrs and over 800 projected and commented slides. Classes will be of maximum 5 people in order to assure a great level of interaction.
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
Reflex, mirrorless, bridge or compact camera, also with manual settings.
COURSE PROGRAMME
Getting to know better the equipment, the workflow, composition and light, focus, time and aperture, shooting modes, but also understanding clearly how to manage the depth of field, ISO values and the exposure measurement. Notes on privacy policy, analysis of photos taken by masters of photography, outdoor trials to put into practice what you’ve learnt during lessons, vision and comments of pictures taken during the outdoors.
